Last friday, The Next Door Board of Directors hosted the 3rd Board Breakfast–a fundraiser for the agency. It was a low key event that Board Members invited their colleagues, friends and neighbors to attend. We provided breakfast and speakers.
Eight speakers told powerful stories about their experiences with The Next Door programs–Nuestra Comunidad Sana, Klahre House School, Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Independent Living Program. Board Member Ryan Hartman then closed with a plea for donations that was incredibly heartfelt–it made me give!
I don’t often write posts about the Board of Directors and I should. Everyday, each Board Member gives time, energy, expertise and resources to the agency–all on a volunteer basis. The Next Door is incredibly lucky to have such a dedicated governance council.
